Christchurch Bus Exchange Braille Signage

“Following the 2011 earthquake the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan was developed to provide a framework for the rebuild of the Christchurch CBD. Concurrently the ‘An Accessible City’ strategy was produced by Christchurch City Council to create a travel network which makes it easy, safe and enjoyable to get to central city destinations.” The Christchurch bus interchange is the first Government-led rebuild anchor project to be completed, costing around 53 million.

Canterbury earthquake recovery minister Gerry Brownlee said the facility’s opening was “a great moment for Christchurch”

Aura was a proud participant in this project working on contract to supply braille signage for all the bus stations and amenities. We are grateful as a team to be able to help the blind community around Christchurch access public transport more easily.
